The time between Christmas and New Year aka Twixmas is always an odd one. You have had the fun build-up to Christmas, the kids have opened all the presents and everyone has eaten their weight in Turkey and chocolate.

The word Twixmas comes from the old English phrase ‘betwixt’ which means between.

Broad Oak Heart Christmas Trail Fletcher Moss Park, Didsbury
Fletcher Moss Park in Didsbury is a great spot for a Twixmas walk and with the Broad Oak Hearts Christmas Hearts Trail the kids can have fun along the way.
Trail sheets are available from the cafe in the park with a suggested £1.00 donation.

Animal Crackers at Lyme Park House
Friday 1st to Saturday 30th December 2023
Head to the Lyme Park House where Christmas has been interrupted by an animal takeover.
Make your way around the house to collect the mislaid eggs, relax with cows and enjoy karaoke with badgers.
The house will be decorated for Christmas.
The event has been extended to run on the 28th, 29th and 30th December and will be open 11.00 to 3.00pm
The event is free but usual admission prices apply.

Trafford Centre Ice Rink
Sunday 17th November 2023 to Monday 1st January 2024
The Trafford Centre Ice Rink will be open until New Years Day 2024.
You can enjoy a skate around the rink to great tunes, they have skating aids available and skate hire is included in the tickets.

Skate Manchester Ice Rink
Wednesday 1st November 2023 to Monday 1st January 2024
Another Manchester ice rink open in between Christmas in New Year is Skate Manchester.
Located in the City Centre, you can expect an undercover rink, you can expect twinkly lights, Christmas songs, and a huge Christmas tree to skate around.

Totally Christmas, Walkden
2nd to 30th December 2023
Totally Christmas has announced that they will be now opening between Chhristmas and New Year.
A fun trail where you need to solve the puzzles in the mini escape rooms to make your way through each themed room.
The event is aimed at primary-aged children and this year they have two trails to choose from.

Christmas Bricktacular LEGOLAND Discovery
Saturday 25th November to 2023 to Wednesday 3rd January 2024.
LEGO lovers can blow off some steam at LEGOLAND Discovery’s Christmas Bricktacular.
There will be festive-themed activities, access to two rides, LEGO® build & play zones and a 4D cinema experience at this ultimate indoor LEGO playground.
Plus you can take part in a scavenger hunt in their winter wonderland-themed MINILAND®, Rock around the LEGO Christmas tree at our pop-up dance parties with our mascots and lots more.
Tickets to LEGOLAND Discovery’s Christmas Bricktacular cost from £17.50 for adults, from £15.00 for children. Tickets to see Santa cost an additional £5.0o.
LEGOLAND Discovery Centre will be closed on 26th December and they will be hosting LEGOLAND kids New Year’s Eve Party sessions on 31st January 2023.

Snowy’s Conservation Crew, SEA LIFE Manchester
Saturday 25th November to Wednesday 3rd January 2024
For a fun day out head to SEA LIFE Manchester where you can join Snowy on a mission to try and help the animals of the North Pole and they need your help.
You will tasked to take on the challenges, find the answers, learn about the oceans and have loads of fun at SEA LIFE
There will be a chance to Meet Snowy the Snowman, take part in an arctic-themed trail, you might even win a prize! Plus lots more.

Glow Christmas Light Trail at RHS Garden Bridgewater, Salford

What better way to blow off the cobwebs than a walk around RHS Garden Bridgewater for a magical light display.
The Glow Christmas Light Trail in Salford will include tunnels festooned with fairy lights, mirror balls, rainbow lights paired with much-loved Manchester tunes under the rainbow lights, amazing light projections on Garden Cottage and lots more.

12 Days of Quarry Bank Christmas Trail
Friday 1st December to Sunday 7th January 2024
Fancy stretching your legs, then Quarry Bank is the place to head. Not only do they have beautiful grounds and historic buildings to explore but they also have a fun Christmas trail.
Families can go on a festive trail exploring Quarry Bank Christmas both past and present. Find the 12 days of Quarry Bank Christmas across the property and fill in your festive song sheet.
Plus there is a competition for a chance to win a National Trust gift card and hamper of Quarry Bank treats.
The trail cost £2 per sheet and is avalible from Visitor Reception. Usual Quarry Bank admission charges apply.

Indoor Funfair Liverpool
Saturday 23rd December 2023 to Sunday 7th January 2024
Indoor Funfair is back in Liverpool for the Christmas holidays.
They have over 25 rides with options for all ages from thrill rides such as Fusion, family favourites including the Dodgems and smaller carousel rides.
Tickets are via wristbands for 3-hour time slots and range from £9.99 to £14.99 depending on the time and if you book in advance.

Christmas By The Sea, Blackpool
Friday 17th November 2023 to Monday 1st January 2024
Blackpool’s Christmas By The Sea event will be running right up to New Year’s Day.
Located at Blackpool’s Tower Festival Headland, there will be a festive village including a free ice rink, light projection shows, festive fairground rides, simulated snowfalls, a snow slide and lots of festive food.
Plus the festive trams will be running along and Blackpool Illuminations will still be on.
The event will run from 12.00 noon to 9.00 pm daily except on Christmas Day.
