The Easter holidays often see the first of the mild weather, so perfect for an Easter family day out.
Of course, Easter wouldn’t be Easter without a good old Easter Egg Hunt, and lots of places run their hunts right across the school holidays or even earlier.
They make a great day out, perfect for the kids running off some steam and a great way of getting a breath of fresh air.
To help you choose the perfect Easter Egg Hunt near you, we have put together a list of the best Easter Egg Hunts and Easter trails throughout Manchester below.
Easter Sunday falls later this year on the Sunday, 5th April 2026, with Easter weekend from Good Friday, 3rd April to Easter Monday on the 6th of April 2026.
Most of the Greater Manchester schools will be running the holidays the two weeks before Easter weekend, with the later date. Double-check with your child’s school before booking any events.

The National Trust Easter Egg Hunts
Saturday 21st March to Sunday 19th April 2026
We are lucky to live in Manchester, where there are some great National Trust properties.
Each year, they all run great Easter Egg Hunts and trails, and 2026 is no different.
This year, there will be Easter Egg Trails at the following locations in Greater Manchester

Easter Egg Hunt At Cockfields Farm
Monday 16th March to Friday 19th April 2026
Cockfield’s Farm will be hosting a fun Easter Event as part of the Easter Holidays, including a separate toddler event.

Join Our Kids Social for an Easter Egg Hunt around Stanley Square in Sale.
Millions of years ago… the dinosaurs hid their eggs to keep them safe.

The Salford Rangers have some great Easter Egg Hunts planned over the holidays.
The egg hunts are free and drop-in and will be at the following parks:

Winstanley Park’s Easter Egg Hunt is back for 2026.
Head out on a hunt through the woods on an Easter Egg Trail full of surprises.
Follow the clues to find all 10 Easter items for your basket, then swap your basket for a chocolate surprise at the end! Along the way, you will find bunnies hanging from trees, hidden eggs on the ground and you may even bump into the Easter Bunny!
There will also be crafts, food and refreshments on sale, free bouncy castles, and lots of props ideal for photo ops.

The Easter Egg Paddle Hunt is back for 2026 at Hollingworth Lake.

Join the Gee Cross Village Easter Egg Hunt for 2026.
Running from 11.00 pm to 2.00 pm, you will receive a clue sheet and the chance to go on a hunt.
Try to find a hidden plastic Easter egg on Sam Redfern Green, and hunt down hidden characters in the village, each with a special letter that spells out a unique word.
Participants must crack the code and bring their found egg to Gee Cross Community Centre to receive an Easter treat.

Children can go on the hunt to find ‘clues’ hidden around the chapel, garden and grounds.

For another Egg Hunt on the wild side, head to Chester Zoo.
The Really Wild Egg Trail will see giant animal-themed eggs hidden around the zoo.
You will need to keep your eyes peeled, as they may not be the animals you would expect.
Collect your map and follow the trail to learn about the incredible animals that start off as an egg.
Complete the trail and get a free sweet treat from the gift shop.
The trail is free as part of the usual entrance fee.

Knowsley Safari Spots and Stripes Safari Egg Hunt – To Be Confirmed

Saturday 28th March to Sunday 12th April
The event is confirmed; however, details have not yet been revealed.
Go on a wild Egg Hunt this Easter at Knowsley Safari Park.
On your way around the foot safari, keep your eyes out for the six giant eggs which will either have spots or stripes.
You will receive a map and stickers on arrival.
Then you will need to match all six eggs to the animals on the trail sheet using the special Easter stickers. Find them all to a sweet treat.
By the end of the trail, participants will be ‘eggs-pert’ in animals’ coats as you discover interesting and fun facts such as why tigers have black stripes, why giraffes have distinctive brown spots and lots more.
This activity is included in the usual admission fee to the park where tickets start at £19.50 each.

The Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt is back for 2025, but with a difference.
