Summer Holiday Activities at Ordsall Hall 2026

Enjoy a fun-filled summer at Ordsall Hall with a fantastic programme of family activities inspired by Tudor history, nature and storytelling.
From bug hunts and interactive trails to hands-on crafts, creative workshops and outdoor games, there’s plenty to keep children entertained throughout the school holidays while exploring one of Salford’s most historic buildings.
All activities take place at Ordsall Hall. Recommended ages, ticket prices and booking information are listed with each activity.

Bug Hunt Trail
Dates: Tuesdays From 28th July to 25th August 2026
Pick up a trail sheet and head around the gardens in search of fascinating mini beasts. Follow the clues, discover bugs hiding around the grounds and learn why these tiny creatures are so important to our environment.

Rhyme & Sound Trail
Dates: Wednesdays 29th July to 26th August 2026
Explore Ordsall Hall through rhyme, rhythm and sound on this interactive family trail. Young children can follow clues around the hall while discovering songs, sounds and playful activities along the way.

Storytelling Sessions
Dates: Thursdays 30th July and 20th August 2026
Gather round for magical storytelling sessions where tales from the past are brought to life through engaging performances that capture children’s imaginations and transport families back in time.

Tudor Writing Workshop

Step back into Tudor times and discover how people wrote hundreds of years ago. Children will learn traditional writing techniques before creating their own historic keepsake to take home.
