Discover some of the best Easter Egg Hunts and trails around Cheshire for Easter and 2025.

The Easter holidays often see the first of the mild weather so perfect for an Easter family day out in Cheshire.

Of course, Easter wouldn’t be Easter without a good old Easter Egg Hunt, and lots of places run their hunts right across the school holidays or even earlier.

They make a great day out, perfect for the kids running off some steam and a great way of getting a breath of fresh air.

To help you choose the perfect Easter Egg Hunt near you we have put together a list of the best Easter Egg Hunts and Easter trails throughout Cheshire below.

Easter Sunday falls early this year on the 31st of March 2024, with Easter weekend from Good Friday 29th of March 2024 to Easter Monday on the 1st of April 2024.

Most of the Cheshire schools will be running the holidays the two weeks after Easter weekend, with the early date make sure you double-check with your child’s school before booking any events.

Kenyon Hall Farm’s Easter Egg Hunt is returning for 2025.

The event will give you the chance to go on the hunt eggs for following the clues around the farm.

Chester Zoo Really Wild Egg Trail

Friday 4th to Sunday 27th April 2025

For an Egg Hunt on the wild side head to Chester Zoo.

The Really Wild Egg Trail will see giant animal-themed eggs hidden around the zoo.

You must keep your eyes peeled as they may not be the animals you would expect.

Collect your map and follow the trail to learn about the incredible animals that start off as an egg.

Complete the trail and get a sweet treat from the gift shop.

The trail is free as part of the usual entry.

Alien Egg Hunt, Jodrell Bank

Saturday 5th to 21st April 2025

The aliens have landed in Cheshire! Join the hunt for alien eggs with our extra-terrestrial Easter trail sheet, taking you on an out-of-this-world quest through our stunning grounds.

The hunt is included in the ticket and you can pick up the trail sheet at the ticket booth.

Easter Adventure Quest, Beeston Castle, Beeston

Saturday 5th to Sunday 27th April 2025.

Head to Beeston Castle this Easter holiday for a fun adventure quest.

You will hunt for clues on the castle grounds, track down the Easter eggs and get rewarded with a tasty chocolate treat at the end.

The quest will run every day between 10.00 am to 5.00 pm.

The trail costs £2.00 per person and normal admission applies.

Tegg’s Nose Country Park Easter Egg Hunt

Saturday 5th to Sunday 27th April 2025

Head to Tegg’s Nose Country Park for a fun Easter Egg Hunt.

Ranger Martin’s Easter Eggs have been stolen and he needs your help to find the wildlife that has taken them and collect their names?

Pick up a map from near the visitor centre and go searching around the park and costs 50p. You need to bring your own pencil.

Brereton Heath Local Nature Reserve Easter Hunt

We are lucky to live in Cheshire where there are some great National Trust properties.

Dunham Massey, Altrincham

Saturday 5th to Monday 21st April 2025

Dunham Massey will be running their Easter Egg Hunt this year for over 4 weeks.

The trail will take you on a hunt around their park and gardens and along the way there will be 10 activity stations.

After you have completed the hunt why not head out around the property on the lookout for wildlife such as the Dunham Massey Fallow Deer.

Lyme Park, Stockport

Friday 4th to Monday 21st April 2025

Lyme Park will be running their popular Easter Trail.

Taking place in the Lyme Park Gardens, you will find games and activities as you follow the hunt.

Once you have finished the trail you will receive a chocolate reward.

Plus you can make the most of the lovely walks around the 1400 acres and the new Crow Wood Playground.

Quarry Bank, Wilmslow

Blakemere Village will be hosting a fun Easter Bunny Trail over the holidays.

Head on an adventure through the village collecting stamps from the various shops and attractions.

The trail maps cost £5.00 and can be purchased from the information centre between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm daily.

The Ice Cream Farm Easter Scavenger Hunt

Head to the Ice Cream Farm for a fun scavenger hunt.

You need to solve the fun clues, facing exciting challenges all to uncover the passcode that will grant you access to the Easter Bunny’s den.

Once inside you will get to meet the Easter Bunny and claim a treat.

Join Little Miss Tiny on a fun family trail exploring the Mansion’s elegant state rooms and servants’ quarters as she helps the Easter Bunny deliver eggs for all her Little Miss and Mr Men friends.

Running over the Bank Holiday weekend families can explore the trail, decipher clues, and uncover the secret Easter sentence.

Once you have the answer an Easter egg prize awaits.

Scavenger Hunt tickets cost £3.50 in addition to the normal entry prices. Limited spaces are available and it is advised to book early.

Easter Eggstravaganza at Castaway Play, Congleton

Saturday 12th to Sunday 21st April 2025

Enjoy a fun Easter Egg Hunt at Castaway Play.

Every child gets an Easter Passport and can take part in our Easter Egg Hunt – with a chocolate treat at the end!

Along with the Mega Easter Egg Hunt, a meet and greet with Peter Rabbit, LillyBob Tail and Alice in Wonderland, plant our own carrots, crafts and animal handling.

All activities are included in entry which costs:

£3.50 for 4 to 11-month-olds (play only)
£17.99 for 1 to 10-year-olds (all activities)
£3.50 for adults
£34.99 for a family – 2 adults and 2 children (all activities)

Easter Egg Hunt at Magical Malpas PYO Farm, Malpas

Saturday 18th March to Monday 21st April 2025

Join Magical Malpas PYO Farm and go on a fun Easter Egg Hunt.

The magic will begin in the indoor Easter Bunny garden play barn where you will visit different stations and complete a series of eggcellent activities!

Plus there will be lots of photo props, role-play areas and photo opp.

Once you’ve completed all of the activities, you will visit the Easter Bunny grotto and children can collect a chocolate treat.

There will also be a chance for you to enjoy a meet and greet Dillys the T-rex and all of the farm’s animals.

Knutsford Bunny Hop Easter Trail, Knutsford

Saturday 19th April 2025

Head to Knutsford Town Centre for their annual Easter-themed trail.

Held around Knutsford Town Centre, families can go on the hunt for the hidden bunnies who will be holding a letter.

Note down the letter to reveal a hidden word on the entry form. You can then post the entry form to enter the prize draw.

There will also be lots of Easter Fun happening around the town. This year the theme will be willy Wonka and fancy dress is welcome.

Easter Bunny Trail Cholmondeley Castle Gardens, Malpas

Easter Sunday 21st April 2025

Enjoy a fun family event at Cholmondeley Castle Gardens on Easter Sunday!

Make your way around the gardens to find the hidden bunnies and solve the riddles to win an Easter prize.

Then try to Beat the Easter Bunny as you put on the bunny ears and hop, skip, jump and race with your egg and spoon to see if you can beat the special guest.

You can also visit the animals where you can hold, pet, feed, learn about and see meerkats, owls, snakes, tarantulas, rabbits, scorpions, guinea pigs, reptiles, giant snails and shetland ponies!

There will also be lots of food stands, face painting, beautiful spring Gardens to explore and more.

Tickets cost £9.50 for adults, £4.50 for children and £1.00 for under 5’s with a trail map.

Forest Easter Egg Hunt, Delamere Forest

Thursday 17th April 2025

Join Forest Explorers for an Easter Hunt around the Delamere forest.

Starting at their education classroom where you will collect your paper & pencil before heading off into the forest on your Easter Hunt.

You will need to find all the eggs hidden around the forest & collect the missing letters to reveal the answer and you be rewarded with an Easter Egg.

The walk is around 1.5 miles on forest trails and is suitable for 4 years and over.

The event will run from 10.30 am with the last entry for the hunt will be 3.00 pm.

Tickets will cost £6.50 per person plus booking fee.

Knowsley Safari Spots and Stripes Safari Egg Hunt – To Be Confirmed

Baboon at Knowsley Safari Park

Go on a wild Egg Hunt this Easter at Knowsley Safari Park.

Onn your way around the foot safari keep your eyes out for the six giant eggs which will either have spots or stripes.

You will receive a map and stickers on arrival.

Then you will need to match all six eggs to the animals on the trail sheet using the special Easter stickers. Find them all to a sweet treat.

By the end of the trail, participants will be ‘eggs-pert’ in animals’ coats as you discover interesting and fun facts such as why tigers have black stripes, why giraffes have distinctive brown spots and lots more.

This activity is included in the usual admission fee to the park where tickets start at £19.50 each.
