The Easter holidays often see the first of the mild weather and so perfect for an Easter family day out in Cheshire.
Of course, Easter wouldn’t be Easter without a good old Easter Egg Hunt, and lots of places run their hunts right across the school holidays or even earlier.
They make a great day out, perfect for the kids running off some steam and a great way of getting a breath of fresh air.
To help you choose the perfect Easter Egg Hunt near you we have put together a list of the best Easter Egg Hunts and Easter trails throughout Cheshire below.
Easter Sunday falls early this year on the 31st March 2024, with Easter weekend from Good Friday 29th March 2024 to Easter Monday on the 1st of April 2024.
Most of the Cheshire schools will be running the holidays the two weeks after Easter weekend, with the early date make sure you double-check with your child’s school before booking any events.

Easter Egg Hunt, Partridge Lakes Cafe, Warrington
Friday 29th March to Monday 1st April 2024
Follow the trail fill your basket and receive an Easter treat at the end. Along the way make sure you keep an eye out for the Easter special guests.
Plus you can enjoy easter crafts afterwards.
Tickets cost £5.00 for participating children.
Easter Eggstravaganza at Castaway Play, Congleton
Friday 29th March to Friday 5th April 2024
Enjoy a fun Easter Egg Hunt at Castaway Play.
Along with the Mega Easter Egg Hunt, a meet and greet with Peter Rabbit, LillyBob Tail and Alice in Wonderland, plant our own carrots, crafts and animal handling.
All activities are included in entry which costs:
- £3.50 for 4 to 11-month-olds (play only)
- £15.95 for 1 to 10-year-olds (all activities)
- £2.95 for adults
- £34.99 for a family – 2 adults and 2 children (all activities)
There is also a £1.50 booking fee.

Easter Adventures at Little Morton Hall, Congelton
Friday 29th March to 14th April 2024
Little Morton Hall is offering a fun Easter Trail with different activities and games to get a Rainforest Alliance-certified cocoa chocolate egg (free from and vegan option available).

From Dunham Massey to Lyme Park, Tatton Park to Quarry Bank and more they all have lots of Easter Egg hunts in store with a chocolate treat at the end.
Alice In Wonderland Easter Egg Hunt, Dunham Massey Ice Cream Farm – To be Confirmed
3rd to 10th April 2023
Head to the Dunham Massey Ice Cream Farm for an Alice in Wonderland-themed Easter scavenger hunt.
Go on the hunt and solve the clues to find the eggs. Discover them all to get a prize.
Plus there will be lots of photo opportunities, an Alice in Wonderland Tipi and Easter flavoured Ice-cream.
The trail is running on 3rd, 4th, 5th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th of April with time slots from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm
Tickets to the Dunham Massey Ice Cream Farm Easter Egg hunt cost £7.50 for a child’s ticket, adults are free.
Kenyon Hall Farm Easter Egg Hunt – To be Confirmed
18th March to 26th April 2023
Kenyon Hall Farm’s Easter Egg Hunt is returning for 2023.
The event will give the you the chance to go on the hunt eggs for following the clues around the farm.
There will also be a sweet treat at the end.
Knowsley Safari Spots and Stripes Safari Egg Hunt – To Be Confirmed
1st to 16th April 2023
Go on a wild Egg Hunt this Easter at Knowsley Safari Park.
Onn your way around the foot safari keep your eyes out for the six giant eggs which will either have spots or stripes.
You will receive a map and stickers on arrival.
Then you will need to match all six eggs to the animals on the trail sheet using the special Easter stickers. Find them all to a sweet treat.
By the end of the trail, participants will be ‘eggs-pert’ in animals’ coats as you discover interesting and fun facts such as why tigers have black stripes, why giraffes have distinctive brown spots and lots more.
This activity is included in the usual admission fee to the park where tickets start at £19.50 each.
Chester Zoo Really Wild Egg Trail – To Be Confirmed
1st to 16th April 2023
For another Egg Hunt on the wild side head to Chester Zoo.
The Really Wild Egg Trail will see six giant animal-themed eggs hidden around the zoo.
You will need to keep your eyes peeled as they may not be the animals you would expect.
Collect your map and follow the trail to learn about the incredible animals that start off as an egg.
Complete the trail and get a free Nat Geo Kids Magazine.
The trail is free as part of the usual membership which starts at £22.72 for children and £29.54 for adults when booking online.
Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt 2023 – Cadbury Worldwide Hide – to the 10th April 2023
The Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt is back for 2024, but with a difference.
This year Cadbury are giving you the chance to hide any egg anywhere in the world with a clue for your loved one to go and find it.
The Cadbury Worldwide Hide hunts have now started and will be running until the 10th April 2023.
