There are some great National Trust choices around Manchester and you can find everything you need to know about them below. 

Dunham Massey, Altrincham – Approx 13 miles 30 minutes from Manchester

Dunham Massey in Altrincham has over 300 acres of ancient parkland offering lovely paved walks, large gardens beautiful in all seasons, and a house filled with lots of treasures and stories to explore. Kids will love the den-building areas and the large spaces to run around. However, the main attraction of Dunham Massey has to be the much-loved fallow deer who can be seen wandering freely around the parklands. 

Dunham Massey also boasts two cafes selling hot and cold food and drinks along with an array of sweet treats including lovely icecream. There is also a large gift shop, toilet facilities including baby changing facilities.

Lyme Park, Stockport – Aprox 19 miles and 40 Minutes From Manchester

Lyme Park in Stockport is a popular choice for families. It has 1400 acres of walks, gardens, and woodlands to explore. The Lyme Park house is a sight to behold with six centuries of history and gardens to match. Kids will love the great playground with a huge slide and a wooden climbing frame. Plus there is lots of wildlife to spot including an array of birds and their herd of Red Deer. 

Lyme Park has a refreshment kiosk in the car park and a restaurant at the Timber Yard Cafe. They also have a gift shop and toilets with changing facilities.
