The May half term is upon us and that means looking for ways to entertain the kids.

Depending on where you live in Manchester the kids may have one or two weeks off. Although some school holidays may vary most will be off on the following dates.

Dino fans will adore  Totally Jurrasic attraction in Walkden. 

Featuring huge dinosaur models with everything from T-Rex to Stegosaurus, it makes a fun immersive experience. 

There will be a chance to walk around a museum-style exhibition of colossal dinosaur models with lots of photo ops along the way.

Located in Manchester City Centre, the Science and Industry Museum is always a good bet for a free day out. 

This half term they have lots going on from with their Teddy Bear hospital, the chance to meet Operation Ouch’s Dr Chris and Dr Ronx and lots more.

Manchester Flower Festival 2024

Manchester Flower Festival is back for 2024. 

Along with the flower trail which will see 10 installations around the city, there will also be entertainment, a parade, food and drink zones and lots more.

Lamb Feeding at Lancaster Park and Animal Farm

April to Mid-June

This May head to Lancaster Park and Animal Farm to try your hand at Lamb Feeding. 

Help bottle feed the lambs who love their warm milk. 

You will also be able to enjoy all the fun of the farm including meeting their animals, play areas and caterpillar rides (additional costs apply to some activities). 

Admission to the farm costs £7.50 per person, under 1’s are free. Bottle feeding costs £3.00 per bottle.

Disney’s Aladdin Theatre Show, Palace Theatre Manchester

Manchester Museum makes a great free Manchester day out for kids and this May half-term they have some extra fun in-store with comic creations. 

These fun sessions will give you the chance to create your own comic as part of National Share-a-Story Month.

You will be able to inspiration in the works created by comic artists that are on display in the Belonging Gallery to develop your own illustrated stories. 

This free, drop-in workshop is suitable for children aged seven or over, along with their parents/carers and will run 2.30 am -4.00 pm each day. 

Plus don’t forget the museum also features the famous Stan the T-Rex, an interactive dinosaur department, and lots more.

The critically acclaimed production of The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show is heading to The Lowry stage.

Created by Jonathan Rockefeller features an amazing 75 lovable puppets.

The show will follow faithfully adapts four stories by author/illustrator Eric Carle: Brown Bear, Brown Bear, 10 Little Rubber Ducks, The Very Busy Spider and of course, the star of the show – The Very Hungry Caterpillar. 

The show will take place at 11.00 am and 1.30 pm each day with a relaxed performance at 1.30 pm on the 30th May 2024.

But what happens if the bed is not big enough to fit everyone in? How do they decide who gets to stay and who has to go?

Carousel Fun Fair will be bringing their rides and stalls to Wythenshawe Park for May half term. 

The fun fair will feature lots of different rides for all ages, plus inflatables and even a waterslide. 

There will also be stalls, food and the chance to meet and greet dinosaurs. 

Carousel will be offering unlimited wristbands for just £11.99.
