What to Expect

This immersive garden trail brings Kenneth Grahame’s timeless story to life through beautifully designed outdoor scenes inspired by E. H. Shepard’s original illustrations. As you wander through the garden, you’ll follow Mole and Ratty on their adventures, encounter familiar characters along the way and help track down the troublesome Mr Toad.

The trail is designed to be gentle, playful and engaging, encouraging children to explore nature while learning about friendship, loyalty and the outdoors. Along the way, families can pause to read story moments, spot characters hidden in the landscape and enjoy the gardens at a relaxed pace.

Perfect for Families

The Wind in the Willows: A Garden Adventure is ideal for families with younger children, but older children and adults who love the story will enjoy it too. The route is buggy-friendly, and there are plenty of spots along the way to stop, explore or enjoy a picnic, just like Mole and Ratty.
