What to expect at Skate Manchester Ice Rink

Skate Manchester offers a huge undercover ice rink in the middle of Manchester City Centre.
There will be a chance to skate under twinkly lights to the sounds of lovely Christmas songs.
This year, there will be a new ice path which you will allow you to skate around the big Christmas tree.
You can also enjoy a sweet treat, a hot drink and a walk through the impressive Christmas Markets.
What Age is Skate Manchester Ice Skating is for?
Children can ice skate at Skate Manchester from 3 years of age.
Kids between 3 to 13 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
Can you hire skate aids and ice skates at Skate Manchester?

Ice Skates are included in the price of entry tickets, and they have sizes available from 8 junior to size 14 adult.
Skate aids for children under 120cm are also available to hire for an additional cost of £5.00. These should be booked in advance.
As an alternative, Bob-skate, which offers 2 blades for children over 120cm and up to shoe size 1.
Plus, helmets are available free of charge.
When is Skate Manchester Open?

Skate Manchester will run from Saturday 25th October to Sunday 4th January 2026 (excluding Christmas Day).
The timed sessions start at
- 11.00 am with the last session at 8.00 pm, to 7 December 2025
- 10.00 am with the last session at 8.00 pm from 7th December 2025 to 4th January 2026
The sessions last for 45 minutes, and it is recommended that you arrive 30 to 40 minutes before your session.
Where is Skate Manchester Located?

Skate Manchester is located in Cathedral Gardens ( near Selfridges Manchester).
Here you will also find some of the Manchester Christmas Market stalls.
How Much is The Skate Manchester Ice Rink 2025
Ticket prices are divided into:
- Off Peak on Monday – Thursday, and up until 4pm on Fridays (excluding school and bank holidays) and
- Peak/Super Peak -Weekends, Bank Holidays, School Holidays
Peak tickets cost:
• £19.50 for Adults.
• £15.50 for Children aged 3-12 years
• £59.00 for a Family ticket of 1 Adult and 3 Children or 2 Adults and 2 Children.
Off-Peak ticket cost:
• £17.50 for an adult
• £13.75 for children aged 3-12 years
• £52.00 for a Family ticket of 1 Adult and 3 Children or 2 Adults and 2 Children.
All ticket prices are subject to a booking fee.
Skate aids can also be hired for £5,00, they are limited and must be booked in advance.
