Easter Eggstravaganza At Cockfields Park Farm
3rd to 9th April 2023
Cockfields Easter Event is back and is bigger than ever.
There will be a big Easter Egg Hunt, an Easter Show, a chance to meet the baby animals and Easter planting.
Plus there will be lots of animal activities such as grooming donkeys, stroke the lizards, snakes and tortoises and more.
All the usual activities will be on offer including tractor rides, an indoor role-play centre, a free carousel and many more.

The Pigeon and the Watch Show at Portland Basin – Free
1st April 2023
Join Peoplescape Theatre at this promenade theatre performance at Portland Basin.
Go back to 1923 and Auntie Stella and Bertie are having some tricky pigeon trouble following as the drama unfolds.
As you watch the show you will move along with the action along the museum’s old street.
The show is suitable for all ages and the performances last for around 45 minutes.
The shows will take place on Saturday 1st April 2023 at 10.30 am and 12.30 pm
No need to book, but please note that viewing space may be limited.

Crafty Saturday, The Vale, Mossley – Free
Saturdays 1st, 8th and 15th April 2023

Spring Is In The Air Family Activity at Portland Basin – Free
5th April 2023
Join Portland Basin Museum for an afternoon of Easter-inspired fun!
There will be ‘Julie’s Nursery’ where we can work together to help plant up our planters on the wharf, and also take a plant home for you to enjoy.
There will also be the opportunity to make wildflower seed bombs!
Plus you can get creative with eggs, stunning designs and natural plant dyes in a celebration of Spring.
The session is free and drop-in.
The event is running at Portland Basin on Wednesday 5th April 12.00 noon to 3.00 pm.

Easter Fun At Arcades Shopping Centre, Ashton – Free
7th and 8th April 2023
Ashton Arcades Shopping Centre has lots of fun planned this Easter.
On Good Friday 7th April 2023, there will be chance to meet the Easter Bunny and maybe get a sweet treat.
On Easter Saturday 8th April 2023, you can meet the magical mini real-life unicorns and take part in a craft workshop to make an Easter unicorn egg.
The activities will be running 11.00 am to 3.00 pm each day.

Easter Boat Trips, Portland Basin, Ashton Under Lyne
Set days between 7th to 16th April 2023
This Easter enjoy a fun boat trip along the Ashton Canal with Tameside Canal Boat Trust
This family and dog-friendly event will take 40 minutes and will cost £5 for children and £3.00 for adults.
No booking is required to turn up and pay on the day and they will accept cash or card.
The boat trips will be running on Friday 7th, Saturday 8th, Sunday 9th, Monday 10th, Wednesday 12th, Saturday 15th and 16th of April 2023.
The trips will run at 12.00 pm, 1.00pm. 2.00pm and 3.00pm.

Easter Eggstravaganza, Ashton Cricket Club
8th April 2023
Organised by Finding Rainbows the whole family will be able to enjoy a tombola, a small egg hunt, games and nibbles.
There will be a visit from the Easter Bunny who will have a small treat for the children. Plus there will also be a photographer, with images available to purchase before the event.
Tickets should be booked in advance £3.00 for children, £2.00 for adults and family tickets are available.

9th April 2023
Reach Church is hosting a free Easter Sunday Funday.
There will be kids crafts, face painting, chocolate challenges, games BBQ and lots more.

Breathe Theatre Show, Astley Cheetham Art Gallery – £3.50 for a child and adult
11th April 2023
Join three storytellers as they lead you through an enchanting experience like no other.
Breathe is an interactive session that explores the inner workings of trees, all beautifully realised through a combination of puppetry, detailed sets, and live camera work
Find the epic in the tiny from the perspective of an acorn as you go on an extraordinary journey through a busy forest.
The storytelling is underscored through a truly unique blend of thumping Drum & Bass and live ethereal folk songs.
The show is aimed at children over 5 years and over.
The show will take place on 11th April 2023 at 12 noon and 2.30pm
Tickets cost £3.50 for a child and an adult. The ticket also includes Puppets making workshop after the show.

Armchair Adventures Music and Theatre Workshop, Stalybridge Civic Hall – Free
11th April 2023
Enjoy a super fun music theatre workshop for all the family this Easter.
This free event is an immersive, interactive experience based on the award-winning children’s podcast, Armchair Adventures created here in Tameside.
The ‘Get Moving’ workshop is based on Podcast latest episode – ‘The Biggest Obstacle Course On Earth Adventure’.
During the episode, the adventurers use their imaginations to transform the obstacles and themselves into fun and wacky things, from giant frogs to super-heroes in a video game!
The session is aimed at children from 6 to 10 year olds.
The sessions are free but booking required and places are limited.
The Armchair Adventures Music and Theatre Workshop will take place on Tuesday 11th April at
- 10.00 am to 12.00 pm
- 1.00 pm to 3.00 pm

Manchester Regiment 1914 to 1918 Event, Portland Basin – Free
15th April 2023
Head to Portland Basin for a fun family event.
Discover the lives of soldiers in the trenches of the First World War, handle the kit and equipment they would have used and chat to members of the group in this fascinating and interactive event day.
The living history group ‘Manchester Regiment 1914-18’ will be on parade at Portland Basin Museum.
The event will run from 11.00 am to 3.00 pm on Saturday 15th April and is drop in – no booking required.
