Cockfields Farm Park Ashton Under Lyne Farm

Cockfields Farm Park on the border of Oldham and Ashton Under Lyne has an array of farm animals, reptiles, an indoor role play village, lots of outdoor fun, and an on-site cafe.

It makes a great day out for families any time of the year and they often hold fun special events. 

Animals at Cockfields Farm

Cockfields Farm has lots of different animals of all sizes.

All located indoors you will find cows, goats, pigs, alpacas, llamas, reindeer, guinea pigs, chickens, rabbits, meerkats, and lots more.

They also have a great reptile and bug zone with a very large boa constrictor, ball python, bearded dragons, geckos, centipedes, African snails, stick insects, and other great species.

Activities 

Along with their great animals, Cockfields Farm Park also has a variety of indoor and outdoor activities.

Indoors they have had a popular role-play village complete with a police station, post office, shop, school, salon, vets, farm, theatre. They also have a small go car track, diggers, and a child’s rodeo cow ride (for an additional small fee).

Outside Cockfield Farm boasts a large play frame, beach-style sandpit, a giant bouncy pillow ( weather dependable), swings, crawl through tunnels, and a fence off duck pond.

On both weekdays and weekends, the popular Oldham farm runs different animal-based activities depending on the season such as cuddling baby animals, donkey grooming, reptile handling, and more.

Cafe and Food at Cockfields Farm Park

The play farm a good variety of food and drinks in their Wooly Jumper cafe. T

he cafe has a large seating area and offers a range of hot and cold food, coffees, teas, hot chocolate, milkshakes, and slushies.

Pack lunches are also welcomed at the farm and you will find a few picnic benches both inside and out.

General entry to the farm costs

  • Adults £15.95 on the gate or £13.95 when booked online.
  • Children £15.95 on the gate or £13.95 when booked online.
  • Under 1’s £2.95

Events at the farm are priced individually.

Cockfields Farm Park is open:

  • 10.00 am – 4.30 pm Monday to Sunday

Location

Cockfields Farm Park is located in Greater Manchester on the border of Oldham and Tameside at Lees Rd, OL6 8AR.

For those wishing to drive to Cockfields Farm, there is a large free car park with overflow parking during events.

For public transport to Cockfields Farm, from Oldham, the 425 bus service stops at Abbey Hills Rd stop which is around a 5-minute walk to the farm. From Manchester the 231 services from Piccadilly Gardens and stops at Lichfields Avenue bus stop, around a 17-minute walk to Cockfields.
