Whats On This Easter in Wigan 2025
Discover things to do and what’s on this Easter in Wigan over the school holidays.
This year Easter falls on Sunday 20th April and most Wigan schools will be off from Saturday the 5th to Monday 21st April 2025.
With two weeks to entertain the kids, it is not always an easy task. To give you a helping hand we have put together a guide to what’s on in Wigan and Leigh.
From free and cheap days out, to Easter Egg hunts and more, there is something for all ages and tastes.
Some of the events have not been confirmed yet for this year but we will be updating them as they are and adding more events as we find them. So keep checking back!

Recycled Spring Wreath Workshop, Wigan Library
Wednesday 9th April 2025
Join staff from FCC Environment to create a unique Spring Wreath to take home, using a bicycle wheel and materials from our Recycling Centres! All materials will be provided.
The session is free drop-in session for families and will run from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm.

Inflatable Swim Sessions, Ashton Leisure Centre, Wigan
Wednesdays 9th and 16th April 2025
Enjoy extra fun in the pool with the fantastic inflatable obstacle course!
This great high-energy session is for children 8-14yrs.
All participants must be competent swimmers and costs £5.30 per person.

Holiday Family Activities, Wigan Museum
Thursday 10th April 2025
Celebrate National Farm Animals Day with the museum.
You can have your face painted, solve the farmyard trail, get hands-on with animal-themed crafts, and more!
Plus everyone is invited to wear fancy dress.
The event is free, booking is required and will run 11.00 am to 1.00 pm.

Haigh Woodland Park Bat Walk
Thursday 10th April 2025
Discover the fascinating world of bats at this fun event.
Equipped with bat detectors, we’ll listen to their echolocation calls and observe bats in their natural habitat.

ZooLab- Jane’s Easter Egg, Wigan Library
Monday 14th April 2025
Join the library for an egg-citing storybook egg-stravaganza which follows Jane on a chocolate egg hunt.
Using story, rhyme and repetition, we reinforce key messages about sharing, friendship and most importantly protecting nature.
The story will be brought to life, adding an extra dimension and sense of excitement through our live animal interaction.
Sessions cost £4.50, need to be booked in advance and will run from 10.30 am to 11.30 am .

Easter Trail, Pennington Flash, Wigan
Wednesday 16th April 2025
Enjoy a free Easter Egg Hun around Pennington Flash.
Use the map to find hidden eggs and record the letters to form a word.
Enjoy great family fun, fancy dress is welcome there will be a little Easter treat for all the kids after the walk.
It is free but booking is required.

Waterside Inn Easter Egg Hunt and Craft Day, Leigh
Friday 18th April 2025
Head to the Waterside Inn for an Easter egg hunt! Find the eggs to trade in for some sweet chocolate prizes and goody bags!
Plus there will be crafts with card making, colouring, painting and more!

Winstanley Park Easter Egg Hunt, Wigan
Friday 18th to Monday 21st April 2025
Winstanley Park’s Easter Egg Hunt is back for 2025.
Head out on a hunt through the woods on an Easter Egg Trail full of surprises.
Follow the clues to find all 10 Easter items for your basket, then swap your basket for a chocolate surprise at the end! Along the way, you will find bunnies hanging from trees, hidden eggs on the ground and you may even bump into the Easter Bunny!
There will also be crafts, food and refreshments on sale, free bouncy castles, and lots of props ideal for photo ops.
Donkey rides will also be available, chargeable on the day at a cost of £2.50.Tickets are limited and must be pre-booked before arriving and cost £17.50 for adults and £2.50 for children.

Teddy Bear Easter Trail, Lancashire Mining Museum, Astley
Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th April 2025
Lancashire Mining Museum will be celebrating Easter with a fun Teddy Bear Trail.
The event will run from 11.00 am to 5.00 pm on both days.

Breakfast With The Easter Bunny, Whistling Wren, Leigh

The Whilsting Wren in Leigh Wigan is hosting a fun Breakfast with the Easter Bunny event.
There will be music, dancing and games, plus the chance to meet and have a photo with the easter bunny and get a treat.
Places cost £10 per child and must be bought in advance.
