Review Waterworld Stoke parking

Waterworld Aqua Park has a large car park with plenty of spaces.

The car park is free for the first hour if you are just dropping off and picking up. If staying longer it is £3.50.

It is a number recognition system and you will find the pay machines in the car park ( cash only) or you can pay at the reception inside Waterworld itself.

The Changing Rooms at Waterworld Aqua Park

Waterworld has a large changing area with lots of family-sized cubicles on offer.

There are also plenty of lockers. To access the lockers you need to purchase a locker band for £7.50. On returning the band you will get a £5.00 deposit back.

Before you enter the pool you are required to rinse off in the showers with a choice of an open wall of showers along with private shower cubicles.

The showers were fine when we used them prior to the pool but found them cold when showering off after our session. Having said this could have been due to the event being held after the usual hours.

The changing room also features a step-in body dryer which costs £2.50 for 3 minutes and is payable contactless.

Attractions and Slides at Waterworld Stoke

Of course, the main reason for heading to a water park is for the slides and the attractions and there is lots to do at Waterworld Aqua Park.

Here is what they have to offer:

Waterworld Slides

They have a total of 11 different larger slides with a good combination of adrenaline/thrill rides and family choices.

The main thrill slides include the Stormchaser and Cyclone both of which are ring rides and were my husband’s favourites. My 10-year-old can be scared easily but enjoyed both of these.

Their biggest ride is the Thunderbolt, which has the largest height restriction at 1.4m but this was closed during our visit.

The ‘family’ rides included lots of different types of tunnel-style slides which seem to vary in length and speed.

My favourites were the Nucleus another ring ride that my 10-year-old adored and went on numerous times even carrying the rubber ring up the numerous stairs herself.

The Hurricane features lots of different coloured lights inside and the Space Bowl that ends in a giant bowl and drops you straight into a deep pool.

For those who don’t like the dark tunnels, they also have a family multi-slide, perfect for racing down to the bottom and which is suitable for younger children.

Some of the slides had height restrictions, with most being 1.1m and just a few above this. The full list is on the Waterworld Stoke website.

Waterworld Waves, Rapids and Other Attractions

Along with all the slides, Waterworld has a huge wave pool which was ideal for all ages. Whereas my 13-year-old enjoyed swimming further into the bigger waves, my 10-year-old stayed at the shallower end enjoying jumping over them.

Another big hit was the river rapids. A lot faster than they looked you could either walk around with a pace or let the flow take you.

There was a knack to getting out which younger kids may struggle with but there was a member of staff on hand to help with this.   and these Bigger kids could big hit with both my 10 and 13-year-old.

The kids also enjoy trying out the Lily Pads, great for relaxing on, they also offer the challenge of trying to leap from one to the other. Harder than it looks as my children and husband all discovered.

For those who like to relax Waterworld has two hot tubs, ideal for soothing your legs after climbing all the steps to get on the slides.

There is also an outdoor pool which is open seasonally but was closed during our visit.

Waterworld Toddler Zone

Waterworld has a dedicated Toddler Zone with a Jungle House featuring a scramble net, water cannons, rope swing and a rop bridge.

There are also two small tunnel-style flumes for braver tots and a number of small open slides.

Being older, my children didn’t venture to this area but the kids I spotted here seemed to be having lots of fun.

Other rides and attractions throughout the aqua park are also suitable for younger kids including the Family Multi Slide, The Python and Black Hole Tube slide, the wave pool and more.

All the swimming and fun are certain to build up an appetite.

Waterworld has two on-site cafes the main one Water’s Edge is located within the aqua park itself.

You don’t need to get dry and dressed to use the cafe and they have a wristband system where you can add money at reception to able to pay for your food and drinks.

Water’s Edge serves a big selection of hot and cold food. Sandwiches start at just £3.30 and hot food starts at around £10.00.

They do a kid’s meal for £8.49 where you get a choice of a hot meal, medium fries, a small drink and a yoghurt.

The adult meal deals cost £9.95 with a selection of mains including burgers, pizza, and hot dogs along with veggie options. The deal also includes medium fries and a regular drink

You can also choose from a selection of family-style platters starting at £18.95.

If you have a sweet tooth you can purchase a selection of waffles or pancakes for £5.25, milkshakes for £4.75 and icecreams starting at £2.95 a scoop.

There is also a smaller cafe in the reception area serving hot and cold drinks and a selection of sweet treats.

If non of the above takes your fancy there is a Subway next door.

None of the cafes were open during our visit so are unable to comment on the size portions or quality of food.

What We Thought About Waterworld Water Park, Stoke

Review Waterworld Stoke is it any good

We all had a great time at Waterworld Stoke.

There was a great selection of slides for ages and bravery levels. As mentioned my 10-year-old daughter is quite cautious with slides and rides but after really enjoying some of the tamer ones her confidence grew and she made her way through them all.

The kids also really enjoy the waves and the rapids, which proved to give them a little break from climbing the stairs to slides (the one downside to any water park).

We were there for 2 hours which was plenty of time to enjoy all the attractions numerous times.

Although we were at a special event meaning numbers were less resulting in no queues as normal sessions are at least 3 hours long this should be more than enough time to enjoy everything that the water park offers.

We would recommend Waterworld for a fun family day out.
