Strawberry picking around Manchester usually starts from late May to mid-June, although on some farms, Strawberries will ripen later than this. 

How Long Does Strawberry Picking Last? 

Pick your own strawberries usually lasts for around 5 weeks, and it is usually over by August, but you should check the individual farms below, as weather can change this.

When is Kenyon Hall Farm Open for 2025

Kenyon Hall Farm has now announced it will be opening early for Strawberry Picking for 2025 from Thursday 22nd May 2025. 

The farm offers the chance to pick your own fruit and vegetables, and now has over 20 products to choose from throughout the year. 

Keyon Hall Farm has a great farm shop and plant centre currently open. They also have a lovely cafe serving a selection of hot food cakes, ice-creams, light refreshments and even afternoon tea.

They also have a lovely play area. 

The toilets at the farm will be open, they also hand washing and baby-changing facilities.

Fruit on offer at Kenyon Hall Farm throughout the season includes strawberries, raspberries, redcurrants, blackcurrants, gooseberries, and more.

How much does it cost to pick fruit at Kenyon Hall Farm? 

You need to book tickets to the Strawberry Picking at Kenyon Hall Farm in advance. 

The price of the booking will cost up to £5.95 per person. The ticket includes car parking, entry to the fields, and a punnet of strawberries approx (approx 300g). 

Additional strawberries picked will be paid for by weight vary depending on what fruit is available to pick.

Other fruit picking is also available at Kenyon Hall Farm with tickets from £2.50 to £3.50 per person including a punnet of fruit (approx 300g)

Prices for additional fruit is charged per kilo are displayed on the entry to the fields.

Special Offer at Kenyon Hall Farm 

Kenyon Hall Farm have announced that the week beginning 23rd June will be the last week of Strawberry Picking at the farm. 

As the strawberries left are smaller than usual, they have a special entry offer of just £3.95 per person – booking in advance is still required.

When is Poynton Fruit Farm Open for 2025? 

Poynton Fruit Farm Strawberry has now sadly confirmed that they will not be opening for 2025; 

Usually they open Wednesday afternoons from 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm and Saturdays 10.00 am to 12.00 noon.

There is no need to book, you can just turn up. 

What Fruit is Available to Pick at Poynton Fruit Farm?

The farm has strawberries, raspberries, black currants, red currants, gooseberries and rhubarb.

How much does it cost to pick strawberries and Fruit at Poynton Fruit Farm?

Poynton Fruit Farm charges by the punnet rather than by weight and provides the punnets for you to use. 

Strawberries at Poynton Fruit Farm cost £5 per punnet, which holds around 1KG. 

The other fruit picking at the farm is priced as follows: 

Raspberries – £9 per punnet

Black Currants £7 per punnet 

Red Currants £7 per punnet 

Gooseberries £7 per punnet

Rhubarb 20p per stick. 

No booking is required and both cash and card are accepted.

When is Claremont Farm Open for Fruit Picking in 2025? 

Another farm that has been offering pick-your-own for over 40 years is Claremont Farm. 

The strawberry fields are now open for 2025. 

They are open 10.00 am – 5.00 pm daily, and there is no need to book. Check their website and social media for availability before setting off. 

The farm has a farm shop and butchery along with a cafe that serves seasonal dishes and local ingredients. 

What fruit is available to pick at Claremont Farm? 

Claremont Farm usually has strawberries and gooseberries available to pick.  

How much does it cost to pick Strawberries at Claremont Farm?

Entry to the Strawberry Fields cost:
  • £5.00 for adults, including a 1kg punnet

Woore Fruit Farm, based in Crewe, is a great place to pick your own fruit.
