Ad – The Academy offers drama classes in Manchester for adults from 16 years old looking for a career in the industry and currently has spaces available.

A joint venture with Tina O’Brien’s The Drama MOB and HBA Acting, The Academy offers drama classes for students who have a passion for acting.

Taught by HB Acting’s Hannah Bounds, a highly experienced drama teacher and Ryan Gerrard previously an assistant director at Oldham Coliseum the course is designed to help young adults prepare for a career in the acting world.

What To Expect From The Academy Drama Classes?

The Academy Drama Classes Manchester what to expect — Pupils acting at The Academy

The Academy offers the chance to study in detail the preparation an actor must undertake in order to succeed, exploring and performing different styles of script and performance.

Practising different acting techniques students will learn how to find their emotional truth and utilise it as an actor.

With an aim to provide insight into the industry as early as possible, hoping to provide new actors with the confidence needed when meeting casting directors and working within television and theatre.

It is also supported by Coronation Street’s Tina O’Brien who has led sessions such as acting for TV.

The Academy Drama Classes Manchester showcase — Pupils on stage acting at The Academy

Designed to be fun and supportive the classes are focused towards producing a yearly showcase to perform to casting directors or a showreel to help secure castings.

When ready, students will also have the chance to audition for The DM Management, Tina’s talent management agency.

Where Do The Academy Drama Classes Take Place?

The Academy sessions take place at Barlow RC High School in Parrs Wood on Tuesdays from 7.00 pm to 8.30 pm and 6.00 pm to 7.30 pm from September 2023.
