Tuesday 2nd to Sunday 14th April 2024 

Explore the world of Ancient Egypt this Easter at the free The Totally Chaotic History Museum Trail.

Organised by Kids in Museums and Walker Books families can enjoy a fun free trail.  

Pick up your activity sheet at our welcome desk and explore the intriguing objects that have survived from Ancient Egypt and the people who used and made them.

You can pretend to be a pharaoh and plan what you would take with you to the afterlife. Plus you can learn more about the hundreds of Ancient Egyptian gods and goddesses.

After you complete the trail to get a free Totally Chaotic History sticker!

Golden Mummies of Egypt

Featuring more than 100 objects and eight mummies, Golden Mummies of Egypt presents a rich perspective on beliefs about the afterlife during an era when Egypt was part of the Greek and Roman worlds.

Wednesday 3rd April 2024 

Take a totally chaotic trip to Ancient Egypt when historian and You’re Dead To Me podcaster Greg Jenner joins expert Egyptologist Dr Campbell Price for this fun family event.

Celebrating the launch of their new book, the dynamic duo will bust myths, unravel mysteries and uncover mind-boggling truths about everything from Pharaohs and Egyptian gods to mummies and the pyramids.

They’ll bring Ancient Egypt to life to show you what it would really have been like to live through thousands of years of this extraordinary era.

Tickets cost £8.99 with an included book or £5.00 for entrance only. 

The event runs from 3.00 pm to 4.00 pm with a book signing at 4.00 pm. 

Make Your Own Amulet 

Friday 5th and Friday 12th April 2024 

Join Carie Barker, author of Our Curious Panda children’s magazine available to enjoy clay craft and make your own amulet in the style of the Ancient Egyptian.

The sessions are free and drop in and will run 11.00 am to 1.00 pm.
