National Play Day Events In Manchester

National Playday is back for 2025, and there are lots of fun events across Manchester.
The National Day for Play is celebrated every year across the UK on the first Wednesday in August. This year, Playday 2025 will be celebrated on Wednesday, 6 August, and the theme is Spaces For Play.
Each year, lots of Manchester venues organise fun events, and here are where you can attend this year.
National Play Day 2025 at Z-arts
This year, the Z-arts National Play Day event will take place at Hulme Park with a fun celebration of all things play!
There will be messy play, creative activities, play, sports and dress-up.
It will take place from 11.00 am to 2.00 pm, it’s all free, but booking is required.

National Play Day With Playtime at Whitworth
Join the Whitworth and Afrocats for lively storytelling and dance, brought to life through the colourful world of Indigenous Peruvian artist Santiago Yahuarcani.
The event will run from 11.00 am to 3.00 pm.

PARKTASTIC, National Play Day Activities
PARKTASTIC is bringing free activities to parks across Manchester this summer.
As part of the activities, they will also be hosting a National Play Day Event.
It will take place at Chorlton Park from 1.00 pm to 5.00 pm.
