Review Simba Hybrid Mattress

As busy parents of teens, sleep can feel like a luxury we rarely get enough of.
Between work, school runs, revision marathons, late-night lifts and the general chaos that comes with raising older children, a good night’s sleep becomes essential rather than optional. Yet many of us overlook one of the biggest factors influencing our rest: the mattress we’re sleeping on.
Most experts recommend replacing a mattress every eight to ten years, but like many families, we pushed ours well beyond that.
After a full decade, our old mattress had lost its shape and support, and we were waking up with aches, stiffness and the sense that we hadn’t actually rested. When you’re juggling teenagers’ schedules, moods and mealtimes, starting the day already tired simply isn’t sustainable.
So upgrading to something better became a genuine priority. We wanted a mattress that offered optimum support, helped us stay cool and fresh through the night, and could genuinely improve our sleep.
When we were offered the chance to review the Simba Hybrid Mattress, we were keen to see whether a modern hybrid design could genuinely improve our sleep and comfort.
Please note – we were kindly gifted for an honest review; however, all opinions are our own.
What Does the Simba Hybrid Mattress Offer?
The Simba Hybrid Mattress has become a well-loved choice across the UK, and it’s clear why so many people actively choose it when investing in a new mattress. Its hybrid design — blending responsive micro-springs with pressure-relieving foam — offers a balanced level of comfort and support that works for different body types and sleeping positions.
It features cool-touch technology, designed to help you feel fresher and cooler throughout the night. The mattress is medium firm, ideal for couples who need a middle ground between soft and firm. Simba also has a strong reputation for reducing motion transfer, which is great if you and your partner go to bed or wake up at different times.
First Impressions and Setup

One of the first positives was the delivery experience. Simba offer free next-day delivery, which is extremely convenient when you’re replacing a mattress you’ve had for over a decade.
Even better, the delivery drivers carried the boxed mattress upstairs to our requested room, making the whole process far easier — especially with a king-size. Simba also offers an optional mattress recycling collection service for a fee, although we didn’t use this on this occasion.
The mattress arrives rolled and boxed, making it manageable to unpack. Once unboxed, it starts to expand surprisingly quickly. You can sleep on it after six hours (although it may take up to 72 hours to fully expand).
After the six hours, the kids, of course, wanted to be the first to try it out. They instantly declared it ‘really comfy’ and were not keen to move so that I could make it up.
It’s worth noting that the king-size is obviously big and somewhat heavy. Although the delivery team placed it in the right room, it still took the two of us to position it properly on the bed frame. Once in place, however, it feels sturdy, premium and very well made.

Features We Noticed With The Simba Hybrid Mattress
After just over a week of trying the Simba Hybrid Mattress, we have noticed a big difference, and we are definitely both getting a better night’s sleep and feeling less stiff. Of course, any new mattress offers instant improvement, but there are specific features that really stood out.
Cool-Touch Surface & Staying Fresh
The top layer of the mattress is designed with cool-touch technology, which has been designed to regulate temperature and keep you feeling fresh all night long. Being of a certain age, I do sometimes suffer from hot sweats during the night, and compared to our old mattress, the difference is already noticeable.
Support and Comfort
Simba explains that the combination of Simbatex® foam and micro-springs delivers a responsive medium-firm feel that supports the body without sagging.
Both my husband and I noticed straight away that the mattress offers cushioning without sinking too deeply into the mattress, which was a problem with our old
one. For someone who moves around a lot like me, this is great. I felt comfortable in all the positions I moved into during the night. Plus, my back and hips were well supported from the very first night.
Motion Isolation
As mentioned, I am someone who moves around at night, which is a bugbear of my husband, as it often disturbs him. Since sleeping on the Simba, he says he’s hardly been disturbed. I have also not realised that he has left for work, as I have not felt him get up. On the flip side, I usually feel him going to work, and I have woken up having been sleeping.
Practical Considerations

In an ideal world, we would only have to think about a mattress at bedtime when we were about to enjoy it. However, as we all know, they do require chores like changing bedding, maintaining it and cleaning it. Therefore, along with looking at comfort, it is also important to consider the practical elements of it.
Bedding
Our last mattress had a depth of just over 30cm, and we found that it was not always easy to find fitted sheets to fit. At 25cm deep, the Simba Hybrid fits standard sheets – giving me lots more options and a perfect excuse to buy a full new set of bedding. With all the features, I expected the mattress to be just as heavy or, if not heavier than our previous one. Despite its multiple layers, it feels surprisingly lighter than our previous mattress, making bed-making far easier.
Rotating
Like with any mattress, the Simbra Hybrid does need to be rotated regularly. It is recommended that it be
rotated once a month for the first three months, then once every three months to help maintain comfort. It never needs to be flipped.
Depending on the size of your mattress, this may need to be a two-person task.
Cleaning
Although I swear by a mattress protector to keep our mattresses in the best condition possible, it was great to see that the Simba Hybrid comes with a removable top cover so that it can be washed.
The cover zips on and off and can be washed at 40°C and line dried. Although I have not tried this yet, it does look really easy to do.
Sustainability and Recycling
When choosing new products, sustainability is really important to us, and it is great that it is also important to Simba.
Final Verdict

Although we definitely needed a new mattress, I had worried that swapping to a new one would affect our sleep, especially in the first weeks as we got used to it.
However, from the first night we both slept brilliantly. I love the support that it offers whilst still being extremely comfy. I definitely noticed the difference that the cool-touch technology made. My husband says he’s not been disturbed as much by my tossing and turning. I imagine it is a combination of me being more supported and the mattress offering much more stability.
For busy families, especially parents managing the demands of teenage life, sleep quality is crucial. The Simba Hybrid Mattress has helped us sleep better, and it’s easy to see why it’s such a popular choice across the UK. It certainly gets our approval.
