The museum is open daily from approximately 10:00 to 17:00 during school holidays.

Space Themed Fun
Explore the wonders of space with a lively programme of free hands-on fun. From cosmic crafts to star-gazing activities, there’s something for every aspiring astronaut this February.
Get your galactic groove on with dancers from Company Chameleon as they take over our Revolution Manchester gallery with regular dance and movement sessions. Inspired by planets, stars and galaxies, you can spin, twirl, dart and dance your way through the solar system.
The museum’s team of expert Explainers host demonstrations and science stations where visitors can investigate physics, engineering and creativity through play.
Revolution Manchester Show
Enjoy a daily show as you discover Manchester’s role in the Industrial Revolution.
Learn about the power of steam, the first railways and computers in a fun explosive show.
Lasting around 15 minutes the shows are free and drop-in , runs at 11.00 am, 12.00 pm, 1.00 pm and 2.00 pm. Suitable for over 5’s.
Textile Machinery Demonstrations
Enjoy demonstrations of historic textile machinery daily over the holidays.
Discover what life was like for Manchester’s factory workers in the Industrial Revolution and how both the young and old played their part in cotton production.
Power Up
On Going
Kids and adults alike can enjoy an ultimate gaming and interactive experience.
Gaming fans will be in their element with the chance to play the most popular games from the past 40 years.
Expect the likes of Pong and Pacman, Streetfighter, Mario and Minecraft and more.

Horrible Science: Cosmic Chaos, Science and Industry Museum, Manchester (Paid exhibition)
Thursday 13th February 2026 to Sunday 3rd January 2027
BBC’s Horrible Science: Cosmic Chaos is heading to the Science and Industry Museum kicking off the February Half Term! Explore space-themed zones, take part in hands-on experiments, and challenge your scientific wits while dodging the schemes of Dr Big Brain. From dancing on alien disco planets to investigating far-off worlds, this playful, interactive exhibition brings the hit Horrible Science series to life for curious minds of all ages.
Tickets £10 per child or adult, children aged 3 and under free. Families and small groups get £1 off per ticket. Suitable for children aged 7+ (younger children can enjoy highlights).
