Go on a hunt this summer for splendid painted snails around Cheetham Park in Stalybridge this summer 2022.
Slow down this summer and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Cheetham Park on the snail hunt.
The event is running from 30th July to 4th September 2021.

What is Splendid Snail Hunt in Cheetham Park
The Splendid Snail Hunt will see lots of mini snails hidden around Cheetham Park.
Along with being able to hunt for the snails, you can also create your own, to hide for others to find.
Either head to one of the fun workshops (see below) or have a go in your own time.
Splendid Snail Hunt Workshops
If you would like to make your own snails as well as hunting for them you can head to one of the following workshops:
Cheetham Park – 30th July 2022
The workshop at Cheetham Park will be running on 30th July between 11.00 am and 3.00 pm
Stalybridge Civic Hall 17th Augsut 2022
The workshop at Stalybridge Civic Hall will be running on 17th August between 10.00 am and 12.00 noon and 1.00 pm to 3.00 pm.
Both the sessions are free and drop in with no need to book.
Making Your Own Snails for the Hunt
You are welcome to make your own snails but you need to make sure you use natural materials – so no glitter, googly eyes, plastic, pipe cleaners etc.
Here are some ideas of what you can use to make your snails:
- Painted rocks
- Shells
- Home made crafting dough
- Painted Pincones
- Conkers (if you can find them)
