Lightopia, Heaton Park 2020

Light installation at Lightopia
Start Date: 3 Dec 2020
End Date: 10 Jan 2021
Venue: Heaton Park, Manchester

Enjoy lanterns and huge colourful light installations this Christmas at Lightopia in Heaton Park Manchester.

Lightopia in Heaton Park offers unique interactive and immersive lights and lanterns with new installations and a brand-new route for guests to explore for 2020.

With a lovely Christmas theme for this year’s light and lantern festival, Lightopia will use the stunning Grade I-listed Heaton Hall as its sparkling backdrop for all its festive merriment. You can expect a 10-metre illuminated Christmas tree, pass by Santa’s sleigh and make your own festive soundtrack with a giant interactive walking piano.

The new route has been designed to create a safe environment, where visitors are able to see the sights safely with friends and family; there will be wider footpaths to maintain social distancing, a one-way system, three entry points to reduce queuing and direct access to two car parks. Other safety measures will also be in place.

Lightopia will be open to the public from Thursday 3rd December until Sunday 10th January. The event is open every day, except Christmas Day. Opening times are between 5pm to 10pm, and last entry is 8.30pm daily.

Tickets cost from £20 for adults, £13 for children and £60.00 for families of two adults and two children (£68.00 on the day). Children under three  go free. Essential carers of disabled visitors can attend for free; the disabled visitor pays the normal admission fee.
