This February half term the Science and Industry Museum has lots of fun for all ages.
The Science Industry Museum in Manchester City Centre always makes a great free day out in Manchester, however, this summer they have lots of fun free holiday activities in-store.

Science and Industry Museum Events Over Half Term
Family Catwalk Extravaganza – Saturday 18th February 2023
Join Ghetto Fabulous for a fun and fierce movement workshop.
Then, watch as they take to the stage in the ultimate Family Catwalk Extravaganza.
Four dancers go head to head in a dance, fashion and lip sync competition in this lively event where you decide the winner.
You will be able to stamp your feet, clap your hands and shake your noisemakers to show your appreciation for the performers.
No dance experience is required, just bring your enthusiasm and get ready to enjoy how the music makes you want to move.
The workshop is free drop-in show and will take place 11.30am and 2.15pm in Revolution Manchester.
Textiles Demonstrations
Head to the Textiles Gallery and see the historic working machinery come to life.
Get a taste of what it was like to work in a cotton mill amongst all the noise, dust and elbow grease.
The sessions are free drop-in and will take place daily from 11.00am, 1.30pm to 2.30pm.
The Noisy Show – Daily
Enjoy a free family show and discover what sound is, how we experience it, and make music together.
Then watch as the expert Explainers turn up the volume in this lively, interactive show about the science of sound.
The show is free drop-in show and will take place 10.30am , 11.30am and 2.30pm in Revolution Manchester (10.30 only on Saturday 18 February)
Sound Sessions – Daily
Families can enjoy a free talk and demonstration all about sound.
From guitarists to sound technicians, hear from people that work with sound as they demonstrate their expertise and skill in these inspiring demonstrations.
The sessions are recommended for ages 7 and older.
They are free drop-in and will take place 11.30am, 1.30pm and 2.30pm in Revolution Manchester.
Make and Take Workshops – Daily
In these fun workshops, there will be the chance to make your own instruments and noise-makers.
They you can take your creation away with you to enjoy making music and experimenting with sound at home.
The session is designed for all ages.
They are free drop-in and will take place daily from 1.00pm to 4.00pm.
Acoustic Corners – Daily
Head to one of the museum’s Acoustic Corners get cosy and explore different ways that you can change your acoustic environment.
Create your own soundscape by altering what you can hear around you by experimenting with materials that change how sound travels.
The Acoustics Corners are open all day, free and drop in.
Turn It Up: Power of Music
Make music together and play with beat, melody and harmonies in a newly commissioned musical playground.
You can find out how music can trigger emotions and memories, whether it can affect what you buy, and even what certain songs taste like.
Plus there will be chance to take part in a musical Turing test and see if you can tell the difference between songs written by humans and machines.
Tickets are required and cost £8.00 for adults and £7.00 for children.

Power Up
Kids and adults alike can enjoy an ultimate gaming and interactive experience.
Gaming fans will be in their element with the chance to play the most popular games from the past 40 years.
Expect the likes of Pong and Pacman, Streetfighter, Mario and Minecraft and more.
Tickets are required and cost £8.00 for adults and £7.00 for children.

Experiment Floor
During your visit don’t forget to head to the Experiment science floor.
Here you will be able to enjoy an interactive gallery designed for the whole family to enjoy together.
