Pre-Natal and Baby-Friendly Exercise Classes in Salford
If you're longing to get fit but are pregnant or have a baby at home, you're in luck! Salford offers lots of great classes for mums, dads and mums-to-be.
As the nights get darker, you might be tempted to hibernate, but exercise is great for the body and soul. If you're a new mum or dad, it's also a great place to meet other new parents or parents-to-be, so what are you waiting for? There are lots of classes running in Salford that are perfect for new parents as you can actually bring your little one along with you. We've pulled together some of our favourite classes running at Salford's leisure centres.
Exercise Classes for Mums-To-Be
Aquanatal classes are great for mums-to-be as they help you stay healthy and are safe to do in pregnancy (suitable for mums-to-be who are 12 weeks pregnant or more). As well as keeping you fit and helping you relax, they are also a great opportunity to meet other expectant mums and have a laugh too. They take a holistic approach to your physical and mental well being, combining relaxation with cardiovascular exercises to help prepare their body for labour. Aquanatal classes takes place at Worsley, Irlam & Cadishead and Broughton Leisure Centres.
Exercise Classes for Parents
If you have a baby at home, there are several classes running in Salford where you can bring your baby along with you. Baby-friendly fitness classes run at Eccles, Swinton & Pendlebury, Irlam & Cadishead and Worsley leisure centres and you can choose from spinning, circuits and kettlebell group fitness sessions. Babies must be in a carseat or pram whilst the class is taking place.
Baby Swim Sessions
If you want to get your baby confident in water from an early age, both Broughton and Worsley leisure centres run baby swim sessions. Suitable for babies and toddlers, ages 0-4, they are a great way of getting babies used to the water, and giving parents confidence too. Babies can achieve Discovery Ducklings awards to mark the start of their swim experiene. Once they have completed all four stages, they can move on to the regular swimming stages. Sessions last for one hour and cost just £4 for a parent/carer and child.
