Discover how to get some great offers and discounts for some fun days out during the summer holidays here. 

 A big day out is great treat during the summer holiday but can also prove expensive. To help you save a penny or two we have put together a guide to the best ways to bag yourself a great discounts or offer on a fun UK day out. 

Use your Tesco Club Card Points for great UK days out discounts.

If you collect Tesco Club Card points we are sure you are aware that you can use them on more than just food and they are usually worth more by trading them in for days out and other experiences with their reward partners. 

Their Reward Partners include brands such as Merlin Attractions ( including Alton Towers, Legoland Windsor and the Legoland Discovery Centre’s, The Coca-Cola London Eye and more), Cineworld, Blackpool Zoo, London Zoo, Longleat and Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Drayton Manor, Blue Reef , Aquariums, English Heritage Membership, iFly Indoor Sky Diving, Tenpin Bowling, Family and Friends railcards and lots more. 

TheTesco club card points are usually worth 3 times the value when spending with the Tesco Reward Voucher, meaning for every 50p worth of club card points you have you will get £1.50 to spend on a day out. 

Plus you don’t need to worry if you don’t have a lot of vouchers as some Tesco Reward Partners allow you to use the vouchers towards some of the cost and pay the remainder of your balance by card.

Free Days Out Entry for Blue Peter Badge Holders 

Having a Blue Peter Badge doesn’t just bring you honor but can also get you a free day out. free entry to over 200 attractions around the UK. 

Those with a Blue Peter Badge and a valid badge card can gain free entry to over 200 attractions around the UK when accompanied by a full paying or concessionary adult. Plus if a paying adult is accompanied by two children with badges and valid badge cards, free entry will be given to both children. 

The attractions which allow free entry include London Zoo, Anglesey Sea Zoo, Blackpool Zoo, Edinburgh Zoo, Blue Planet Aquarium Beeston Castle near Chester, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Diggerland, The Eden Project, The London Bridge Experience, Stonehenge and lots more. 

Plus the free entry also applies to BBC Tours including the CBBC Interactive Tours in Salford. 

But don’t worry if your children don’t have a Blue Peter badge they are easy to apply for by post (details here). Although the badges can take up to 10 weeks to arrive they would arrive in time for the October half term.

Half Price Entry at Alton Towers with Cbeebies Land, Warwick Castle and Sealife Centre’s with Carex

Carex are offering half price entry to Alton Towers where you will find Cbeebies Land, Warwick Castle and Sealife Centre’s with promotional packs of their handwash and shower ranges.

To gain the half price entry you need to the promotional pack (empty) to the ticketing booths at Alton Tower, Warwick Castle and Sealife Centre’s by the 31st May 2020. Only one voucher is valid per person, however each family member can use a voucher to gain the half price entry. 

The half price entry is only valid on the day price and although the online price is cheaper ( when booking in advance) the Carex Half Price may still work out cheaper especially as you can pick up a Carex for around for £1.30 per bottle. However we recommend that you always check before hand. For example on the day price at Alton Towers is £56 for an adult, the half price ticket will work out at £28 and the online price is £34. However we recommend that you always check before hand.

Free Cinema Tickets on Sundays with Mars Sweets 

Mars are offering a Sweet Sunday with their free cinema ticket offer. 

The offer is running on promotioal packs of standard, sharing More To Share pouches of their sweet bags such as Maltesers, Galaxy Minstrels, M&M’s, Skittles and more. The tickets can be used at Cineworld, Showcase, Empire, Picturehouse, Moviehouse, Scott Reel, WTW, Merlin, Savoy or G1 cinema’s (exclusions apply). 

To claim the free cinema ticket you need to collect codes from the promotional packets and enter them on their website until you have 10 stars. Once you have 10 stars in register account you will get your ticket via an eticket which you can redeem in the cinema taking part or online at the cinema’s website. 

If you have any stars left in your account over the 10 they can count towards the next 10 stars needed for a second ticket, with a maximum of two tickets per person. 

Standard or sharing pouches (91g to 165g) are worth 2 stars so you will need to buy 5 for a free cinema ticket; and More To Share pouches (189g to 268g) are worth 5 stars so would need to buy 2 of the More To Share packets.  Depending on where you shop you can pick up the the smaller packs for around £1.50 and the More to Share packs for around £3.00 meaning you can get a cinema ticket and your chocolate for £6.00.
