Chester Zoo Offer Kids Go Free for the Teachers Strike

Chester Zoo has announced that kids will go free during the teacher’s strike on Wednesday. 

Thousands of teachers will be on strike this week as part of the industrial action over pay and conditions. This means lots of children will be off school.

To help entertain the kids, Chester Zoo are offering free entry to children when accompanied by an adult on the teacher’s strike day, Wednesday 1st February 2023. Chester Zoo Offer Image Credit Chester Zoo

Along with the chance to check out all the zoo’s animals which includes elephants, lions, jaguars, monkeys and lots more, Chester Zoo have announced that the zoo’s rangers will hosting additional events through the day. 

The events will include interactive and educational sessions at no extra cost with the aim to inspire a new generation.

Charlotte Smith, director of conservation education at Chester Zoo, said: “Our education team will be hosting lots of extra fun interactive activities on Wednesday – all aimed at helping educate children about the incredible animals here at the zoo, as well as equipping them with the skills they’ll need to become the conservationists of the future.

“As one of the world’s leading conservation zoos, we put everything into our work to prevent extinction both here in the UK and globally.”

The free tickets are open to all school-age children when accompanied by a full-paying adult. 

Adults’ tickets cost £27.27 without a donation to the zoo and £30.00 with a donation. 

The tickets need to be booked in advance here.
