Review of Disney On Ice 2019 100 Years of Magic

The new Disney On Ice 100 Years of Magic 2019 has arrived at Manchester Arena and we were invited along to check it out.  Here's what we thought.

As huge Disney fans we love a trip to see Disney On Ice and couldn't wait to the new 100 Years of Magic show featuring the new Toy Story character Forky. For our top tips for visiting Disney On Ice 2019 100 Years of Magic see here.

Although my ten year old son is a huge Disney Fan, on discovering that my seven year old daughter's best friend had never been to the show he kindly gave up his ticket.

You can watch a sneak peek in the video below from Harry's World UK and read on for our review.

In Disney On Ice tradition, the main show began Mickey and Minnie kicking off the proceedings with the fabulous Disney On Ice skaters who showed off their amazing skills with lifts and moves that the Dancing on Ice stars dream off.

Before long Donald and Goofy were added to the mix who explained that they were on search of ideas to make a movie, and where better to look than in the Disney Family.

The 100 Years of Magic show first took us to the classic Pinocchio who shared his dream of being a real boy whilst showing off his skating moves.

We were than transported under the sea to join Dory, Marlin and Nemo on the search of Dory's parents. Everyone's favourtie sea turtle Crush with his son Squirt were on hand to help them to just keep swimming ( or should we say skating) in a spectucular number.

From the sea we were whisked to the Beast's Castle to watch as Belle and the Beast fall in love to the Something There and infamous Beauty and the Beast Songs and to watch the dramatic ending unfold.

To my daughter and her friends delight it was the Disney's Princesses and their Princes' turn to show their love and skating skills to snippets of their signature songs. With Cinderella, Jasmin, Ariel, Snow White and Rupunzel all taking centre stage it is no wonder they both declared this scence as one of their favourites.

Of course 100 years of Disney Magic would not be complete with a trip to Arendelle as they open up the gates. Although a condensed version the show followed the film with favourite charactes Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Hans and Kristoff all taking to the ice and renditions of Love Is An Open Door, In Summer and Let It Go - which had all the audience singing out loud.

After a short interval it was time some lamp magic as the Genie (and his muliples) belted out You've Never Had a Friend like me in a sensational skating number.

It was then everyone's favourtie spork, Forky's turn to make his Disney On Ice debut. Greeted with cheers and laughter as looked for the trash he was soon set back on the path to keep Bonnie happy by Woody, Buzz and Bo Peep.

With a bang of the gong from Goofy, the shortned story of  Mulan began to unfold with the graceful dancing to Reflection, co-ordinated moves to I'll Make A Man Out of You and a giant Chinese Dragon MuShu had us all in awe.

The last part of the show took us to Africa for the Lion King. Starting with Rafiki powerful chanting, followed by the hillarious Pumbaa and Timon, before Simba and Nala showed off some the best ice skating moves of the evening to Can You Feel The Love Tonight.

100 Years of Magic Disney ended with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy and characters from out the journey, joining in the finale to The Circle of Life in a perfect ending to an amazing show.

What we thought of Disney on Ice 2019 100 Years Of Magic .

We loved the new Disney On Ice 100 Years of Magic show. The mix of the traditional Pinocchio caught the imagination of all ages with a sprinkling of nostalgia. Beauty and the Beast and the Princess scences delighted my daugther and her friend and were well and truly in their element when singing along with Anna and Elsa.  They were also over the moon to see Forky take to the Ice and were truly mesmorised by the giant Mushu as he glided around the arena.

The special effects were of a true Disney standard with favourites including stunning ice backdrops appearing from no where, masses amounts of snowflakes fallling from the sky and the giant Crush who had everyone smiling.

Add in the amazing ice skating skills and breathtaking routines, Disney On Ice 100 Years of Magic is a truly magical show which you don't want to miss on it's Manchester Leg .
