Manchester Council annouce new June dates for Hyde Road closure.

Manchester Council have revealed when Hyde Road will be closed in June as part of the ongoing road widening scheme.
In announcement on Facebook Manchester Council stated that “From 6am on Saturday 27 June to midnight on Sunday 28 June, Hyde Road will be fully closed in the vicinity of the old railway bridge to allow for the new bridge to be installed.”
The work to increase the capacity on the A57 in Gorton began on Monday 27 January 2020 in order to add two new lanes the area.
The original bridge located near Debdale Park was removed on 7 March 2020 which saw Hyde Road completely closed. The railway bridge was opened in 1892 and more recently became part of the Fallowfield Loop walking and cycling route.
The closure of Hyde Road in June will see a new state-of-the-art presentation and cycle bridge. During the closure of the road there will be signed diversions will be in place in both directions.
