Manchester Christmas Light Switch On Date, Location and Line Up

The Manchester Christmas Light Switch On has been announced for 2019 and you can discover the new location, dates and the line up here.
Taking place on the 14th November the annual Manchester Christmas Light switch on will have a new location for 2019.
Due to the Town Hall renovations, for the first time over 20 years the switch-on will be moving from Albert Square to Deansgate near to Manchester Cathedral.
Along with the magical light switch on audiences attending can expect a night of free entertainment from stars from music, stage and screen.
The line up is set to include
Following more than two decades of events in the shadow of Manchester’s iconic town hall building, the switch-on event will move to Deansgate, near the Cathedral, to celebrate the beginning of the festive season in the city.
This year’s event will take place on Thursday, 14 November – the week following the Christmas Markets opening (Friday 8 November)
Thousands of people attend the celebration which will be hosted by the Hits Radio breakfast presenters Fleur East, Greg Burns and James Barr and will feature stars of music, stage and screen providing the entertainment.
The line-up will include Becky Hill (known for her collaborations with acts including Sigala, Rudimental and Wilkinson) ; YouTuber and former CBBC presenter HRVY and X Factor girl group Four of Diamonds.
You will also get a glimpse of Manchester’s Christmas pantos and shows including performers from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves and Gypsy along with the cast of Dr Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas who will be playing at The Lowry.
The switch-on event will end as usual huge firework display.
