With the announcement of the new tier 3 for Manchester, the run-up to Christmas will be a little different this year. Although lots of Christmas events have had no choice but to cancel, there are some great events that are still able to go ahead. Here are our top picks of Christmas events in Manchester for 2020.

Christmas at Cockfields Farm – 5th to 18th December 2020.
Although Cockfields Farm has had to cancel their North Pole Adventure due to the new restrictions, they have announced that are doing a Santa On The Farm event. You will get to see Santa and receive a quality soft toy and a gingerbread decorating kit, see Santa’s reindeer and enjoy the play equipment.
Lightopia – Thursday 3rd December 2020 to Sunday 10th January 2021
Taking place outdoor in Heaton Park, Lightopia offers a unique interactive and immersive lights and lanterns. With the stunningGrade I-listed Heaton Hall as its sparkling backdrop you can expect a 10-metre illuminated Christmas tree, pass by Santa’s sleigh and make your own festive soundtrack with a giant interactive walking piano. This year they are offering new installations and a new route to make it safer for visitors and the rule of six will apply.
Broad Oak Christmas Hearts Trail, Didsbury 5th December 2020 to 4th January 2021
Enjoy a lovely family walk at the Broad Oak Christmas Hearts Trail. Grab a map and go on the hunt for the hearts in Fletcher Moss Park .
Christmas Drive-in Cinema, Christmas City – 4th to 31st December 2020
Enjoy a classic Christmas film at this fun Christmas Drive-In cinema at Event City. Along with a great film, Christmascity will be offering live socially distanced entertainment whilst you can watch from your own car. Films will include favourites such as Elf, Home Alone, Polar Express and many more.
Christmas at Dunham Massey 3rd December 2020 to 10th January 2021
It has been confirmed that The Christmas Light Trail will be able to continue with the new restrictions. Expect giant glittering deer, stunning tree canopies, giant sculptures and lots more. The lights will be set to Christmas music sponsored by Sony Music, plus there will be the chance to purchase mulled wine or hot chocolate and keep your eyes peeled for Father Christmas along the way. Meet Father Christmas and his magical reindeer Norbert at Trafford Centre this Christmas. Meet Norbert, collect magical reindeer food, and see Father Christmas and collect a gift.
